1978 Porsche 911 RUF Targa. This car was purchased for the engine and transmission to be used on an RS clone. This car recently had a stock 3.0L motor installed. Redline Service in Tucson, AZ has performed a cylinder leakage test and it showed 5-6% leakage all the way across. Transmission was recently gone through at the same time. The previous owner purchased the car around 1990 in Sacramento and due to health issues only put about 3,000 miles on it in all the years he owned it. This is believed to be a genuine RUF car with modifications done by Alois Ruf in Germany. We have contacted RUF but unfortunately they had a fire years ago and are unable to look up the VIN number. The last owner after the car was purchased did not send the file with receipts and documents on the car and they are now lost. Some later body work was performed by Performance And Design in Napa, CA.  We don't have any early history on the car. The car runs and shifts great and is in very nice condition. Complete brand new blue paint job over original blue color, 10's and 12's Gotti alloy 5-spoke 15" wheels mounted with new BF Goodrich g-force 225/50 R15 91V on the fronts and g-force drag radial P275/50 R15 on the rears. New crossed drilled rotors, custom exhaust, Recaro seats with electric functions (heater and airbags), RUF custom front oil cooler in front air dam, exceptional fiberglass flares, custom Targa hard top.

  12. This vehicle is being sold "as is."  Seller makes no representations or warranties, nor should bidders in making bids rely upon any representations or warranties.

  13. Out of state buyers are responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title service fees in the state in which the vehicle will be registered.  All taxes and fees must be paid in full in order for the vehicle to be titled and registered.

  14. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs from VEHICLE location.

  15. Common carrier arrangements should be made by the buyer.  PorschePlanet can assist in arranging delivery of the vehicle, by experienced classic motorcar carriers if requested.
